Rise 5
Inspired by words by DuBois, an American author and activist (1868-1963) and a leading intellectual; the first Black American to earn a PhD from Havard University. Rise 5 tells the story of a strong and forceful rise. Pattern work and embellishments reflect the detail of our lives, while rich layers of colour and steely grey set a background of passion and power.
The fifth and final work of the 'RISE' collection, this is an acrylic expression on canvas. Deep layers of colour build together and are finished with white and gold detail.
